Twins

They stood in front of each other.

Slowly lifting a hand to touch, both

To taste, tongues out, two

To team,

To brother, alike

To make wonder,

To be silent, and noisy

Or noisy, and silent.

Slowly raising a query, same.

Slipping in the puddle on my way home,

I smiled, stood still, watched the imaginary tadpoles rush away from my sandals.
